RESUMO

Expõem-se, neste artigo, algumas ponderações de linguistas que discutem o tratamento dado à diversidade linguística em sala de aula. Esses estudiosos comprovam a heterogeneidade sistemática do português falado no Brasil em função de condicionadores sociais e intralinguísticos e, especialmente, os sociolinguistas procuram desmitificar noções arraigadas no espaço escolar que contêm implicações no desenvolvimento da competência linguística do aluno.

ABSTRACT

This article presents some reflections by linguists who discuss the treatment given to linguistic diversity in the Portuguese classroom. These scholars prove the systematic heterogeneity of the Portuguese spoken in Brazil due to social and intralinguistic factors and, especially, sociolinguists researchers seek to demystify notions consolidated in the school environment which have implications for the development of the student’s linguistic competence.
